“Trilogy” is a collection of works Garduño realized throughout many years of photography between Mexico and Europe. Her magnificent visual production develops through a “dance” in three movements, creating a comprehensive artistic statement that spans decades of creative exploration.
The overture is “Bestiarium,” in which real and fictional images of enchanted animals come to life as metaphors of our dreams and passions. Then we have “Fantastic Women,” a celebration of the feminine universe and of the mystery and sensuality that spring from the female body. The dance ends with “Silent Natures,” where Garduño contemplates wilderness because, as the photographer herself explains, “whenever I think of Silent natures, I must confess that I created these photographs for myself, to maintain my playful spirit throughout all these years.”
The project emerges from a magical land reminiscent of Mexico, pervaded by myths and legends, plunged into a voluptuous and sensual nature, kissed by the sun of those exotic and ancestral places. Each movement within the trilogy represents a different facet of Garduño’s artistic vision, weaving together themes of nature, femininity, and the mystical through her distinctive black-and-white photography.
“Trilogy” represents the final consecration of thirty years of the photographer’s activity, bringing together her most celebrated work in a unified collection that demonstrates her ability to transform everyday subjects into dreamlike, symbolic narratives that speak to universal human experiences.
